The Minnesota Dahlia Society (MDS) awards Perpetual Trophies to winners of MDS hosted shows. Perpetual Trophies are ‘traveling trophies’ which are awarded in addition to the trophies listed in the various classes. Winners of perpetual trophies retain possession of them during the ensuing year but must return them to the Society prior to the next show. The names of the winners are engraved on the trophies. The winners also receive a plaque for permanent possession or a cash award.
There have been upwards of 19 Perpetual Trophies by the Minnesota Dahlia Society. Over the years we have had to cut back on the number of trophies due to the storage, transportation, and cost of maintaining the trophies. Today we have 10 Perpetual Trophies that are awarded along with ribbons, plaques, medals, and cash awards.

The Bridgeview Dahlia Gardens WL Trophy is awarded to the exhibitor with the best single bloom Waterlily variety in Section WL – Open to All – Waterlily.
The Bridgeview Dahlia Gardens 3WLTrophy is awarded to the exhibitor with the best triple bloom Waterlily variety in Section 3WL – Open to All – Three Blooms Waterlily.
The C.H. Rose Achievement Trophy is awarded to the exhibitor with having the greatest number of sweepstakes points of the Multiple Blooms in Section C – Multiple Blooms.
The William A. Kanduth Trophy is awarded to the exhibitor having the most sweepstakes points for AA and A size dahlias in Section SG – Small Grower.
The Minnesota Dahlia Society SG Trophy is awarded to the exhibitor having the most sweepstakes points for B size dahlias in Section Section SG – Small Grower.
The Minnesota Dahlia Society ST Trophy is awarded to the exhibitor with the best single bloom Stellar variety, Section ST.
The Hugo Carlson Trophy is awarded to the exhibitor having the most sweepstakes points for all blooms in Section N – Novice.
The H.R. Eikland Trophy is awarded to the exhibitor having the most sweepstakes points for all blooms in Section NG – New Growers.
The Deruyter Trophy is awarded to the exhibitor having the most sweepstakes points in the other formations varieties (Stellar, Peony, Anemone, Collarette, Single, Mignon Single, Orchid, Orchette, Novelty Open, Novelty Full Double).
The Jewell Construction Trophy is awarded to the exhibitor of the Champion BB bloom.
The Golden Bee Trophy is awarded to the exhibitor having the most sweepstakes points in the “Open to All” size A Bloom.
