Obituary
November 17, 1933 - March 18, 2026
Phyllis K. Andrews, mother to Michael F. Andrews and Kathryn J. A. Malody, passed away on March 18, 2026. Despite her years, her unexpected passing was peaceful, and surrounded by the love of her family.
Known for her generous love and creative endeavors. She was a light to those who met her, but even more so for her family. Phyllis will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Phyllis’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.
She is survived by son Michael F. Andrews (Renee Andrews), daughter Kathryn J.A. Malody (James Malody), 5 grandchildren (and spouses), 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous “family-by-choice”.A Celebration of Life will be held at Cherokee Presbyterian-United Church of Christ in West Saint Paul at a future date. Flowers and memorial gifts will be welcome at that but not necessary.

It's with heavy hearts that we share Phyllis Andrews passed away on March 18th.
Although Phyllis was not a member of MDS, many of us knew her well. She was deeply involved in the floral community and generously shared her time and expertise over the years. Phyllis served as a judge for floral arrangements at our State Fair Show and Bachman’s shows for many years. Even if you did not exhibit arrangements, you may remember her as the Superintendent of Flowers at the State Fair Agriculture/Horticulture Building.
Phyllis also gave floral arrangement demonstrations at our meetings when asked, always willing to share her knowledge and passion. Phyllis and Sue Bagge were the only two people who have exhibited arrangements in Art in Bloom from its very beginning—42 years ago—a truly remarkable legacy. Phyllis was a friend to many of us, and she will be deeply missed.
